Celebrating holidays in the workplace is a tradition at AIFP. Not only is it a great way to build camaraderie and acknowledge the contributions of your team, but it perfectly encapsulates the work hard, play hard culture we believe in.
The best company cultures understand the importance of balance, employee recognition, and tradition. One of our favorite holiday traditions is the annual turkey handout. Every year, AIFP President John Vranizan gifts a turkey to each and every employee for them to enjoy with their families on Thanksgiving. This tradition is the perfect reminder that celebrating holidays in the workplace isn’t just about coming together at work, it’s about making it clear to your employees that you value their life outside of work.
At AIFP, celebrating holidays in the workplace isn’t a one-day-only experience. In fact, throughout the month of December, AIFP creates fun opportunities for our employees to give back to the community and celebrate with their team members, as well as their families.
One of our favorite ways to celebrate the holidays is by decorating the office for Christmas. Not only will we spend some time on December 4th putting up the office Christmas tree, but we also hang up fun decorations all around the office to help everyone get in the Christmas spirit. It’s just another example of how office traditions can bring everyone closer together.
Philanthropy is a big part of our company culture, and the Christmas season is the perfect time to give back to our community. Starting December 4th, AIFP employees can choose an item off the giving tree at our office to gift to a boy at the St. Mary’s Home for Boys in Beaverton. While AIFP does work with the home throughout the year, this AIFP tradition is close to our heart, as it enables each and every boy at St. Mary’s to open a present on Christmas morning.
At AIFP, celebrating Christmas doesn’t stop at the office. Every year, AIFP President John Vranizan hands out a decorative Christmas wreath to each employee, which they can then use to decorate their homes. We love this special holiday tradition, because like the turkey handout, this gesture serves as the perfect reminder that AIFP values their employees’ contributions, as well as their time outside of the office. Work-life balance is an important part of our company culture, and this tradition emphasizes the ways in which AIFP values their employee’s experience inside and outside of the office.
You can’t celebrate Christmas without a visit from Santa! On December 12th, Santa will be stopping by the office, and our employees are encouraged to bring their kids and grandkids by so they can sit on Santa’s lap and give him their Christmas wish list. This is a great opportunity for team bonding, as AIFP employees get to spend time with each other’s families for a fun Christmas event.
Every year, AIFP rents out an event space and hosts a Christmas party for all of our employees. This is a fun opportunity for the AIFP team to dress up, come together, and celebrate the hard work they’ve done all year long. In addition to a fun night of delicious food, photo booths, and music, AIFP president John Vranizan publicly recognizes individuals who have been with the company for milestones of 10, 15, 20, or 25 years. It’s one of our favorite nights of the year! Want a career at one of the best places to work in Oregon? AIFP is always hiring commodity traders.
