A Year in Review: 2017 Highlights at AIFP

As we’re preparing to greet the new year, we wanted to take some time to reflect on all we’ve accomplished in 2017. In this final AIFP blog of 2017, let’s celebrate our company successes and favorite memories.

Sales Increased by 27% in 2017

In terms of sales, this has been a huge year of growth for AIFP. Sales have gone up 27% this year! That’s right: 27%.

We owe our incredible team a huge shout out for this remarkable success. Our ambitious, energetic traders and our eagle-eyed, hardworking admin team work together to provide the best possible experience for our growing suite of partners. Way to go, team!

A Growing Team

In 2017, we hired 6 new traders and 3 administrative staff members. We plan to continue this trend in 2018. Starting up again this coming February, we’ll be attending career fairs across Oregon, looking for the next round of rockstar candidates to join our team.

Our Best Moments

From golf tournaments to epic holiday parties, we’ve experienced too many good times to count. With so many choices, settling on the top moments of the year was tough, but we did it. Read on to discover which highlights made the top 4. Note that these are in no particular order; all moments were equally awesome.

St. Mary’s Home for Boys BBQ

St. Mary’s Home for Boys is a Portland-based organization founded in 1889 as an orphanage for abandoned children. Today, St. Mary’s offers residential treatment to at-risk boys between the ages of 10 and 17.

We’re involved in this organization year-round, and this past June, we organized a softball game and BBQ dinner with the traders and the boys. The boys had so much fun and the traders are always so good with the guys, serving as excellent role models and instilling hope for the boys’ futures. We look forward to continuing our work with this exceptional organization.

Trader Fishing Trip

Back in August, our traders went out a Trader Fishing Trip in Murphy. Year-round, we make sure to balance work with play—especially during the summer months (as you know, it’s tough to beat summers in Oregon).

The trip was a great way for the traders to bond. New traders who were a part of our Trader Development Program also attended, giving them a chance to forge new friendships with the rest of the team. The day was filled with unforgettable memories and great laughs out on the water.

Company Picnic

At the end of July, we had a blast at our all-company picnic out at Horning’s Hideout. Everyone in the company was invited to bring their families. It was great to meet everyone, share some great food and drinks, and unwind. One highlight for the books? Some of the employees’ kids got an early start on learning how to fish!

Admin Retreat

Detail-oriented and diligent, our administrative team keeps AIFP running like a well-oiled machine. We wanted to do something to thank them for all their hard work. This past October, we took the admin team on a weekend-long Admin Retreat at Salishan Spa & Golf Resort in Gleneden Beach, OR. In addition to delicious food, spa treatments, and time on the beach, the team also went to the Oregon Coast Glassworks and made some amazing glass ball floats. The whole retreat was a huge success filled with great memories that we’ll look back on for years to come.
