A Look at Our 2019 Gold Traders Trip

At AIFP, we work hard to cultivate a “work hard, play hard” company culture that recognizes and celebrates hard work, prioritizes mentorship, and builds camaraderie among team members. Our annual Gold Traders Trip is just another example of our company culture in action. Here’s a look at what it is, who gets to go, why we do it, and how it went this year.

What Is It?

The Gold Traders Trip is an annual trip to a tropical location, which serves as an opportunity for showcasing our “Work Hard, Play Hard” mentality. This year, the trip took place in Kona, Hawaii, where guests stayed at the Fairmont Orchid hotel. During the trip, we plan fun outings and delicious group meals as a way to show our appreciation for our employees’ hard work throughout the year. It’s also a great way to bring our commodity traders and their families together.

Who Gets to Go?

AIFP lumber traders earn an invitation through compensation achievements throughout the previous year, and are invited, along with their spouses and families, for an exciting week of relaxation, great food, and fun activities with friends. In order to keep things running smoothly at the office, we send two separate groups out during back to back weeks.

Why We Do It

The Gold Traders trip has three important purposes: to promote our company culture, to recognize and celebrate the hard work of our dedicated traders, and to develop a sense of camaraderie among team members. We believe that people work harder when they’re recognized for their accomplishments and given the time and space to have fun.

This Year’s Trip

This year’s Gold Traders incentive trip was one for the history books. In addition to enjoying the stunning natural beauty of Hawaii, our traders were also able to get a taste for local culture, tee off for some friendly competition on the golf course, try their luck at target shooting, explore nature on exciting hikes, and enjoy delicious dinners with the company. We’re already looking forward to next year’s trip!
