Parker Riser joined AIFP in 2022 as a lumber trader trainee. As he works through the trader training program, Parker has found that trading southern yellow pine can be challenging, but with the support from his mentors and the other traders on the trading floor, he also finds it to be very rewarding. He really likes how high energy the lumber industry can be and enjoys being able to build relationships into partnerships with people around the country. His family traces back to being one of the first fishing and logging families in Astoria, Oregon so being a lumber trader makes him feel as though he is continuing his family's tradition in the lumber industry. When Parker is not on the trading floor, he can be found spending time with his family and friends, enjoying the Oregon coast, watching and playing sports and working on his cars.
